Byung-ho Lee, President of the Korea Rural Community Corporation, stated on the 8th, "In response to the climate crisis, we will fundamentally take a long-term perspective and work on improving the agricultural production infrastructure."
President Lee held a luncheon meeting in Sejong on the same day and said, "This summer, due to the climate crisis such as the longest heatwave and extreme heavy rains, the supply and demand of agricultural products faced difficulties."

The Korea Rural Community Corporation is strengthening disaster response capabilities to cope with climate change and expanding complex farming bases and smart farms. This includes enhancing reservoir flood control capacity by expanding spillways and installing emergency sluice gates, as well as strengthening drainage functions in lowland farmland by installing drainage pumps and sluice gates. Additionally, the corporation is promoting productivity improvement and youth entrepreneurship through the construction of smart farm hub complexes applying information and communication technology (ICT) convergence technologies, such as new greenhouse construction and smart horticulture complexes, and expanding infrastructure.

The corporation is also actively pursuing overseas projects. Since 2013, it has been constructing the Karian Multipurpose Dam in Indonesia for 12 years, and previously participated in the basic design and feasibility study of the Jakarta seawall project from 2016 to 2020. Furthermore, in the K-Rice Belt project promoted by the government, production complex construction projects incorporating K-agricultural technology are underway in seven countries, starting with Ghana in November 2023. Through this, the corporation is laying the groundwork for the overseas expansion of Korean agricultural machinery by supporting used agricultural machinery and establishing repair centers. President Lee said, "The K-Rice Belt will develop into a very important representative Official Development Assistance (ODA) project of the Republic of Korea in the African region. Beyond simply providing support (free of charge), it will create various possibilities in Africa."
