At the opening ceremony of the '2024 Gyeonggi-do KB Good Job (JOB) Festival' held that day, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon, KB Kookmin Bank President Lee Jae-geun, and KB promotional model Kim Yuna attended to encourage recruiting companies and job seekers.
The 'KB Good Job Job Fair' is the largest single-scale job fair in Korea, with a total cumulative visitor count of 1.2 million since its launch. So far, more than 5,500 recruiting companies have participated, providing over 100,000 job listings. Based on this, it has achieved excellent results by connecting approximately 40,000 people to new jobs.
Marking its 26th year, the 'KB Good Job Job Fair' was held in Gyeonggi Province for the first time this year and is co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Job Foundation. To introduce good jobs to the youth and revitalize the local employment market, about 200 HR managers from companies mainly based in Gyeonggi Province attended the fair.
At the fair, various programs were prepared to help participants enhance their employment capabilities, including ▲ KB Kookmin Bank recruitment counseling and meetings with new employees ▲ mentoring zones run by current and former mentors from large corporations ▲ employment consulting booths ▲ expert employment lectures & corporate recruitment briefing rooms ▲ military officer recruitment booths ▲ job experience booths ▲ and KB SOHO consulting booths for aspiring entrepreneurs.
In particular, this fair expanded the 'Corporate Culture Zone,' which was introduced in the first half of the year and attracted great interest from job seekers. The 'Corporate Culture Zone' is a recruitment area reflecting the trend of 'culture fit,' which hires talent based on cultural compatibility rather than job suitability, presenting the company's culture and vision, including employee welfare, to job seekers. A 'Company Board' was operated in all corporate recruitment booths to intuitively appeal the strengths of companies to job seekers.
Participating small and medium-sized enterprises at the fair received a hiring support fund of 1 million KRW per regular employee hired, with a maximum of 10 million KRW annually per company. Outstanding job-creating companies were offered preferential interest rate benefits of up to 1.3 percentage points. Job seekers were given an interview support fund of 10,000 KRW to the first 300 applicants.
Prior to the 'KB Good Job Job Fair,' KB Kookmin Bank also conducted various employment support programs. On September 27, KB Kookmin Bank operated the 'KB Good Job Employment Academy' for young soldiers in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defense and the Defense Transition Education Institute. The 'KB Good Job Employment Academy' is a 'One-Stop Employment Support Program' that provides consulting on customized employment strategies for companies participating in the fair and how to write job application documents based on job competencies for young soldiers preparing for employment. Additionally, through the KB Good Job website and mobile app, useful employment-related information such as job-specific recruitment information and interview strategies based on MBTI types was provided to job seekers in advance.
Even after the fair, KB Kookmin Bank plans to support participating companies in various ways, including providing specialized talent matching services linked with KB Good Job affiliated organizations.
In his congratulatory speech, Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon encouraged the youth attending the job fair by saying, “I hope you are not afraid of falling down many times or being rejected three strikes,” and “I hope you become young people who confidently face the numerous challenges that will unfold before you.”
