View original imageOn the 8th, Park Seong-jae, Minister of Justice, announced that measures to prevent recidivism and impose preventive punishments tailored to the characteristics of juvenile deepfake offenders will be established.
During the legislative and judiciary committee's national audit briefing held at the National Assembly that day, Minister Park stated regarding the Ministry of Justice's key policies, "We are responding strictly to deepfake crimes that destroy the victim's dignity by forming an intergovernmental task force and expanding dedicated prosecutors, and we have amended the Sexual Violence Punishment Act to eliminate blind spots in punishment."
He added, "Recently, there has been an increase in juvenile offenders involved in addictive crimes such as drugs and gambling, as well as deepfake crimes. The Ministry of Justice recognizes the seriousness of this and is preparing measures to prevent recidivism and impose preventive punishments considering the characteristics of juvenile offenders."
Minister Park said, "We will strictly crack down on illegal collective actions at construction sites and actively respond to wage arrears and unfair labor practices that undermine the value of labor to establish the rule of law in labor relations." He continued, "Aiming to restore the status of a drug-free country, we will continue strong crackdowns and investigations, and simultaneously provide effective treatment and rehabilitation to eradicate drug crimes."

Minister Park stated, "Recently, due to changes in the criminal justice system, various issues such as delays in investigations and trials and weakened crime response capabilities have been pointed out. To alleviate public inconvenience, we will continuously revise criminal laws and actively seek improvements in the criminal justice system by listening to experts' opinions through the Criminal Justice Special Committee." He also emphasized that joint investigation teams with specialized capabilities have been formed to address financial securities crimes and voice phishing crimes respectively.
