The two institutions agreed to promote caregiver training and employment for international students, including: ▲connecting caregiver education for international students, ▲exchanging human and material resources for international student caregiver employment, and ▲establishing a network in the caregiving industry.
As a regional hub general hospital, Good Samseon Hospital has been actively collaborating with Kyungnam College of Information & Technology in industry-academic partnerships. The affiliated Eunseong Medical Foundation operates 11 hospitals, including acute care and long-term care hospitals, in the Busan-Ulsan-Gyeongnam region.
Recently, the government, anticipating the transition to a super-aged society and considering the shortage of care workers, added caregivers to the list of occupations eligible for specific activity visas, allowing international students who graduate from domestic universities and obtain caregiver qualifications to work as caregivers in Korea.
Park Sungwoo, Director of Good Samseon Hospital, stated, "We aim to train excellent caregivers together with Kyungnam College of Information & Technology by utilizing our know-how and medical infrastructure," adding, "We will establish a good model in which the local workforce shortage is solved together by the regional hub hospital and the university."
Kim Taesang, President of Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, said, "Through this agreement, we will fulfill our role as a community college by ensuring that international students can not only be trained as caregivers but also successfully settle and find employment in the healthcare industry, including international medical tourism."
The Department of Hospital Medical Administration at this university is a specialized department in hospital administration and medical services, and has been promoting practical training tailored to hospital needs?such as the nation's first customized administrative service education?and industry-academic cooperation with leading regional hospitals.
