"Recommend Cheongbaek Public Officials"... Yongsan-gu Accepts Candidate Applications Until the 18th
Selection of Grand Prize and Main Award with Rewards up to 2 Million Won and More
Yongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced on the 8th that it is accepting nominations for candidates for the 14th ‘Cheongbaek Public Official Award’ until the 18th of this month to foster a trustworthy public service atmosphere for residents.
The nomination targets are ▲public officials who have contributed to the development of district administration with integrity and a spirit of service, and have set an example in both public and private life ▲public officials who have contributed to improving the district office’s integrity and have not engaged in conduct inappropriate for public officials ▲public officials who handle civil complaints fairly and transparently and are praised by residents ▲public officials who have enhanced residents’ benefits through creative efforts.
Public officials who are currently under disciplinary action or have received disciplinary measures with records not expunged as of the nomination date are excluded from eligibility. Residents wishing to nominate candidates can submit a nomination form via email, mail, fax, or by visiting in person. The related form is posted in the ‘News’ section on the district website.
Nominated public officials will undergo public verification, document screening, on-site verification of achievements, and evaluation by a screening committee. The screening committee will be composed and operated with up to 12 experts.
One grand prize winner and one main prize winner will be selected in the final review. Awardees will receive a prize of up to 2 million KRW, priority placement in their desired department, and preferential recommendation for overseas training applications, among other benefits.
District Mayor Park Hee-young said, “Many public officials perform their duties fairly to create an honest Yongsan-gu,” and added, “We ask for active participation and support in discovering Cheongbaek public officials who are dedicated to residents and serve as role models.”

Meanwhile, the district established the ‘Cheongbaek Public Official Award Operation Ordinance’ in 2011, the first among Seoul’s autonomous districts, and has selected and awarded 25 Cheongbaek public officials to date.
