The College of Social Sciences at Pusan National University (President Choi Jaewon) has raised 180 million KRW in just two months since launching the "Development Fundraising Campaign for the Next 100 Years of the College of Social Sciences," aimed at the reconstruction of the Social Sciences Building, which is scheduled for completion in 2029.
Pusan National University has decided to demolish the aging Social Sciences Building, constructed in 1979, and completely rebuild it. The reconstruction project is underway through a design competition and other procedures. The new building, with an investment of 40.6 billion KRW, is envisioned as a space optimized for a future-oriented educational system and is expected to become a landmark on the Pusan National University campus.
Faculty, students, and alumni of the College of Social Sciences have formed the "Social Sciences Building Reconstruction Committee" in anticipation of the new facility. They are visiting advanced educational facilities both on and off campus and conducting fundraising campaigns, pouring their passion into creating a space that will embody the future of social science education and research.
The College of Social Sciences reported that since the fundraising campaign began at the end of June, 47 professors and staff members have participated, raising more than 180 million KRW in just two months.
