4 Rescued from Boats and Rafts on Han River During Fireworks Festival
Four people on a boat and a raft were rescued by firefighters after going out to the Han River to watch the fireworks festival.
According to the Gimpo Fire Station in Gyeonggi Province on the 6th, at around 7:05 p.m. the previous day, a wooden boat operated by A (44) was moving with a tilted raft connected to it between Haengju Bridge and Magok Railway Bridge on the Han River in Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
The water rescue team, on a safety patrol for the fireworks festival, discovered the boat and raft at high risk of capsizing and transferred three people on the raft to a high-speed rescue boat.
The rescue team tied the boat and raft to the rescue boat, moved to the southern end of Magok Railway Bridge, secured the vessels to a structure, and handed over A and the other three people to the Han River Police Unit.
