85% of Guri Citizens Are "Satisfied with the City Newsletter"
Satisfaction Survey on City Newsletter... Among 611 Respondents, 519 Answered "Satisfied"
85,000 Copies Published Considered "Adequate", Most Say Format Should "Be Larger"
According to a survey, 85% of Guri City residents are satisfied with ‘Guri News,’ the monthly municipal newsletter published by Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun).
On the 4th, Guri City reported that from the 4th to the 13th of last month, an online survey was conducted targeting Guri citizens to assess their satisfaction with ‘Guri News.’ The survey consisted of nine questions covering overall satisfaction, circulation volume, format, section preferences, distribution status, and more.
Among the 611 participants, 519 respondents (85.0%) expressed satisfaction with the current ‘Guri News,’ while negative opinions such as slight dissatisfaction (16 people, 2.6%) or strong dissatisfaction (9 people, 1.5%) accounted for only 25 people (4.1%).
Regarding circulation, the majority of 448 respondents (73.3%) felt that the current print run of 85,000 copies was ‘appropriate.’ Concerning the booklet size, 306 respondents (50.1%) felt that the current B5 size was ‘a bit small (should be larger than now),’ exceeding half of the participants.
The most favored article in ‘Guri News’ was ‘Cartoon Guri,’ chosen by 241 respondents (39.4%), followed by the citizen participation section ‘Puzzle Event’ (230 people, 37.6%), and ‘A Word in My Life,’ which introduces phrases that have inspired citizens along with their stories (223 people, 36.5%).
It was found that Guri citizens prefer sections that are easy, fun, and involve direct citizen participation.
When asked ‘How helpful is ‘Guri News’ in understanding Guri City’s administration?’ 517 respondents (84.6%) answered that it was helpful. Additionally, when asked ‘Where do you get most of your information about Guri City’s administration?’ 417 respondents (68.2%) answered ‘Guri News,’ indicating that the newsletter is effectively fulfilling its purpose of informing citizens about the city administration.
Regarding the question ‘Is ‘Guri News’ being properly delivered to households?’ 334 respondents (57.4%) said ‘It is delivered every time without fail,’ and 229 respondents (37.5%) said ‘It is almost always delivered,’ showing that nearly 95% of citizens feel the newsletter is well distributed. This suggests that the current system, where each neighborhood’s community leader personally distributes the newsletter to households, is being properly maintained.

Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri City stated, “This survey shows that ‘Guri News’ is fulfilling its fundamental duty of directly informing citizens about the city administration.” He added, “We will use the survey results as a reference for next year’s municipal newsletter production and strive to make ‘Guri News’ a media outlet that is even more loved by our citizens.”
