"Research Needed for Utilizing Generative AI in Security"
AhnLab announced on the 4th that CEO Kang Seok-gyun participated in the international cybersecurity forum 'Global Cybersecurity Forum Annual Meeting 2024 (hereinafter GCF 2024),' held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting from the 2nd (local time).

GCF is a global forum aimed at strengthening international cooperation on major cybersecurity issues. It is hosted by the National Cybersecurity Authority of Saudi Arabia under the patronage of the King of Saudi Arabia.
At this event held under the theme "Advancing Collective Actions in Cyberspace," CEO Kang, the only Korean security company representative invited, attended various schedules including ▲expert panel discussions ▲major business roundtable (Cyber CxO Meeting) ▲high-level multi-stakeholder roundtable.
On the first day of the forum, CEO Kang shared his views on key recent cybersecurity industry challenges such as cyber resilience and generative artificial intelligence (AI) during a panel discussion titled "Pioneering Pathways: Unleashing Potential in the Cybersecurity Sector."
CEO Kang emphasized a "collaborative approach" for cyber resilience, stating, "To achieve true resilience in cybersecurity, cooperation across the entire industry and public-private partnerships are essential." He pointed out that both attackers and defenders can utilize AI and said, "To fully leverage the potential of generative AI in security, thorough learning and research on the risks behind it are necessary."
Furthermore, CEO Kang attended the major business roundtable and the high-level multi-stakeholder roundtable held on the 2nd and 3rd, respectively, discussing the importance of cybersecurity as a driving force for economic growth. Besides AhnLab, many global security companies such as CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, and Cisco participated in the major business roundtable.

CEO Kang stated, "Digital innovation promotes economic development but can also involve various risks such as technological gaps, inequality, and cybercrime," adding, "In such an environment, to achieve sustainable economic growth, it is necessary to develop strong and cost-effective security solutions to protect critical infrastructure, along with international technological cooperation among key entities such as institutions and companies."
