Prosecutors Indict Democratic Party Lawmaker Ando-geol on Election Law Violation Charges
The prosecution has indicted Ando-geol, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, on charges including violation of the Public Official Election Act.
According to the Public Investigation Division of the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Seo Young-bae) on the 2nd, Ando-geol is accused of conspiring with his cousin A and others to illegally operate a phone promotion room during the Democratic Party primary for the April 10 general election from December last year to February this year.
Ando-geol is also charged with paying a total of 25.54 million won to 10 people involved in the primary campaign as compensation and receiving 43.02 million won from A's corporation under the pretext of operating expenses for an economic research institute.

If an elected public official is sentenced to a fine of 1 million won or more for violating the Public Official Election Act, their election becomes invalid.
