Gwangju City is holding the '28th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony' on the 2nd at the main auditorium of the Gwangju Senior Welfare Center.
Gwangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Bang Se-hwan) held the '28th Senior Citizens' Day Ceremony' on the 2nd at the main auditorium of the Gwangju Senior Welfare Center.
About 1,000 people attended the event, including Mayor Bang Se-hwan of Gwangju City, internal and external guests, heads of institutions and social organizations, and senior citizens.
The event featured various programs such as a performance by the Little Angels Art Troupe, a reading of "Letters of Thanks to Grandmothers and Grandfathers" by children from daycare centers, and a laser art show. Afterwards, commendations and plaques of appreciation were awarded to those who dedicated themselves to society and neighbors with a spirit of sacrifice and service and contributed to senior welfare, expressing gratitude.
Park Yong-hwa, chairman of the Gwangju City branch, said in his commemorative speech, "We will actively strive to promote respect and love for the elderly, raise awareness of filial piety, and create a social atmosphere to support happy social activities for senior citizens."
