Screening of Two Student-Made Short Films and Completion Ceremony
Students Participated in the Entire Process from Planning to Editing Over Four Days
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) Yangwon Media Center held the graduation ceremony for the ‘Youth Film Camp 2024’ on the 27th.
The 'Youth Film Camp' is a career exploration program for teenagers aspiring to pursue a career in the film industry. It helps youth enhance their understanding of films and learn the value of cooperation by producing short films.
In this film camp, a total of 16 students?8 middle school and 8 high school students from Jungnang-gu?participated directly in all processes from planning to editing over four days, from August 5 to 8, producing two short films.
At the graduation ceremony, two short films produced through the ‘Youth Film Camp’ were screened along with a video documenting the four-day production process.
Participants of the Youth Film Camp shared their impressions, saying, "While making films, I felt the joy of collaborating to create a work." In particular, one participant expressed anticipation for future programs, stating, “Participating in the Youth Film Camp and making films made my career path clearer. I definitely want to join again next year.”
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I am proud of the youth who dedicated four precious days during summer vacation to complete film production,” and added, “I hope the achievements and joy of cooperation gained through this Youth Film Camp will become valuable nourishment in the lives of the youth.”
Yangwon Media Center plans to provide opportunities for youth-produced works to meet diverse audiences through film festivals and contests, and will continuously support youth media club activities.
The district operates two media centers, the first among autonomous districts. Since opening in March, Yangwon Media Center has welcomed 17,214 residents who have experienced various forms of media education and activities.
