Police Arrest Drunk U.S. Military Personnel for Stealing Vehicle in Gangnam
The Gangnam Police Station in Seoul announced on the 29th that they have apprehended a U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) member who stole a parked vehicle while intoxicated at a level warranting license cancellation and fled the scene.
According to the police, A, a man in his 20s and a USFK member, is accused of stealing a parked passenger car in an alley in Sinsa-dong, Gangnam-gu, around 1:30 a.m. that day.
A was urgently arrested by police in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, at around 2:50 a.m., about an hour and a half after driving the car.
At the time of arrest, A's blood alcohol concentration was at the level warranting license cancellation.
The police initially handed over A's custody to the USFK and plan to summon him soon to investigate the detailed circumstances of the incident.

A police official stated, "We also plan to conduct additional investigations to determine if there were any other crimes committed during the escape."
