Kakao Entertainment announced on the 27th that it participated in the '2024 World Webtoon Festival,' sweeping all award categories before the ceremony and showcasing its exhibition hall.
The 2024 World Webtoon Festival is an event hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, and organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency and the Seoul Business Agency. It is being held from the previous day until the 29th in the Seongsu-dong area of Seoul and at S Factory.
Kakao Entertainment attracted attention with its 'ALIVE Exhibition Hall.' ALIVE technology is a patented technology by Kakao Entertainment that adds various three-dimensional effects such as motion graphics and screen transitions to 2D webtoons, transforming them into vivid visuals. The 'ALIVE Viewer' applies this to the mobile webtoon viewing screen, allowing users to experience dynamic content where characters in the webtoon move right before their eyes as they scroll down the work.
Additionally, at this event's 'World Webtoon Awards,' Kakao Entertainment's intellectual property (IP) swept all award categories, including the grand prize. Among the 10 works awarded the main prize, the grand prize went to "Solo Leveling," and the Jury Prize was awarded to "The Great." Furthermore, "Married Woman Killer" and "To Help Your Understanding" were also selected, making a total of four works receiving the main prize. The special awards went to two works: "Tastes of Horror" and "Tomahawk Angel."
