Gijang-gun to Open Its First 'Gongdongyuka Nanumteo'... Easing Childcare Burden
Selected for Grant Project, Receives Business Funding Worth 84 Million KRW from Shinhan Financial Group
Gijang-gun, Busan (Governor Jung Jongbok), was recently selected for the "Shared Childcare Center Installation Support Project" and will establish the first "Shared Childcare Center" in the region.
This project is being promoted through a business agreement between the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and Shinhan Financial Group. It includes remodeling and equipment support for the installation of customized shared childcare spaces through public-private cooperation, as well as support for specialized programs.
The county was finally selected as the project operator after a comprehensive evaluation based on document and on-site reviews, considering factors such as user accessibility, space size, and childcare demand in the surrounding environment. Gijang-gun will receive project funding worth approximately 84 million KRW from Shinhan Financial Group.
The county will begin installing the Shared Childcare Center in an unused space within the community facilities of an apartment complex in Gijang-eup, where many families with infants and young children reside, with plans to open in 2025.
Once the Shared Childcare Center is established, it will support parents with infants and elementary school children by providing a space to share childcare experiences and participate in mutual childcare activities. In addition, a variety of programs for children, as well as events for sharing childcare products and books, will be offered.
