Last Suspect in 'Pattaya Drum Murder Case' Detained ... "Flight Risk"
The last suspect in the Pattaya drum murder case in Thailand, who had been on the run for four months, has finally been arrested and detained.
The Changwon District Court in Gyeongnam conducted a pretrial detention hearing for Mr. A, a man in his 30s accused of robbery and murder, on the afternoon of the 26th. After the hearing, the court issued an arrest warrant, citing concerns over flight risk and the possibility of evidence destruction.
Mr. A is accused of kidnapping and murdering a Korean tourist in his 30s in Pattaya, Thailand, together with two accomplices in their 20s last May, mutilating the body, and abandoning it in a drum.

After the crime, Mr. A remained in hiding overseas, but was eventually tracked down and arrested at a hideout in Vietnam on the 12th, thanks to a joint investigation by the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency and local authorities who obtained clues about his whereabouts.
He was then forcibly extradited to Korea via Incheon International Airport on the morning of the 24th.
The two accomplices in their 20s, who face the same charges as Mr. A, were arrested earlier and are currently on trial in detention.
