'Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawrence Supports Harris... "Presidential Election, Abortion Rights Struggle"
Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish Also Support Harris
Hollywood actress Jennifer Lawrence has expressed her support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
On the 25th (local time), according to Fox News, Lawrence stated in an interview with People magazine, "I will vote for Kamala Harris," adding, "She is an amazing candidate and someone who will do everything possible to protect reproductive rights."
She also said, "This election is literally a battle over whether abortion rights can be preserved or not," and continued with a pointed remark against former President Donald Trump, emphasizing, "It is more important than anything else not to let someone who would ban women's abortion into the White House."
Lawrence also introduced two documentaries set to be released this year. One of them, "Zurawski v. Texas," tells the story of abortion providers who sued the state of Texas last year and is known to have been co-produced with Hillary and Chelsea Clinton. The other is a documentary titled "Bread and Roses" by Afghan filmmaker Sarah Mani, depicting the lives of local women suffering under Taliban rule.
Lawrence hopes these documentary films will lead audiences to donate, volunteer, and most importantly, fulfill their civic duties, emphasizing, "The most important thing we can do right now is simply vote."
Lawrence, who rose to stardom by appearing in the "X-Men" and "The Hunger Games" series, won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her leading role in "Silver Linings Playbook" (2012). She has built a reputation as one of Hollywood's highest-paid actresses and has established the film production company "Excellent Cadaver," actively engaging in film production and promotion herself.
