On the 26th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam signed an investment agreement with Harbor City for a cultural tourism project worth 26.5 billion KRW at the 2024 Gyeongnam International Tourism Investment Promotion Conference held at the Changwon Convention Center.

This investment plan includes constructing a four-story tourist hotel and remodeling existing buildings into commercial facilities in the Masan Fish Market area by the first half of 2026. The project aims to create a complex cultural space that preserves the charm of the fish market while adding modern tourism elements, encompassing both tourism and cultural experiences.
Harbor City is a subsidiary of Develefun and is recognized for its expertise in urban regeneration and spatial planning utilizing old city centers. Its flagship projects include the 'Changwon Soridangil' project, which revitalized unused facilities in the old downtown of Sodap-dong, Uichang-gu, Changwon, turning them into cafes, restaurants, and community spaces to create a cultural street. The company has also been credited with energizing the local commercial district through cultural events such as the 'Soridangil Alley Tour' and 'Semoro Festa,' based on a deep understanding of local culture.
Kang Dongwan, CEO, stated, "Through this investment, we will do our best to transform the Masan Fish Market area into a beloved space for both local residents and tourists. We will continue to promote various projects that can coexist with the local community."
Vice Mayor Jang said, "This agreement will serve as an opportunity to expand the scope of investment attraction from manufacturing to the cultural tourism industry. We will do our utmost to shift the paradigm of investment attraction in line with economic diversification and to attract investments that contribute to regional economic development."
