Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has established the Family-Friendly Certification Enterprise Council, a permanent body to discuss the discovery and expansion of support benefits, with the goal of increasing the number of family-friendly certified companies to 150 by 2028. The council held its first meeting on the 24th in the third conference room at city hall.

View original imageThe family-friendly certification is a system in which the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family grants certification to companies and public institutions that exemplarily operate family-friendly policies such as support for childbirth and child-rearing, flexible work systems, and support for dependent family members.
During the meeting, participants shared the expected effects of family-friendly certification and the new support benefits the city is preparing to implement next year. They also exchanged various opinions on ways to expand the number of certified companies.
Going forward, Changwon City plans to discover and add a variety of practical support benefits for companies and provide tailored consulting for new companies according to their type and circumstances.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, said, "I hope that the expansion of family-friendly certified companies will lead to increased productivity and reduced turnover among workers, thereby strengthening the competitiveness of companies in Changwon."
Meanwhile, the Family-Friendly Certification Enterprise Council is composed of executives and employees from 16 out of the 60 family-friendly certified companies based in Changwon, and is expected to serve as a communication channel for discussing various support benefits and ways to expand certified companies in the future.
