Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center Signs Agreement with KAIST Auto-ID Lab
Cooperation to Promote AI and International Standard-Based Digital Transformation Technologies
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center (Director: Jung Seokchan) signed a memorandum of understanding with the KAIST Auto-ID Lab (Director: Kim Daeyoung) at the '2024 K-ICT WEEK in BUSAN' event held at BEXCO on the 11th, aiming to promote digital transformation technologies based on AI and international standards.

View original imageThrough this agreement, the two institutions will collaborate with the goals of joint technology research and development, fostering professional talent, and establishing an industry-academia-research cooperation system. In particular, they plan to focus on joint research in the fields of AI for marine, port, and logistics, AI manufacturing and robotics, AI smart cities, and the standardization of digital transformation technologies.
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center and the KAIST Auto-ID Lab are both participating in the 'Busan Digital Innovation Hub Industry-Academia-Research-Government R&BD Support Project' led by RoboOne, organized by the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency, and are also developing an AIoT-based AI recycling sorting robot.
Jung Seokchan, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center, stated, "Through this agreement, our institutions will collaborate closely to create opportunities for Busan to grow as a hub city for information and communication and digital industries, and we will seek and realize various ways to contribute to the local community."
The Dong-Eui University Artificial Intelligence Grand ICT Research Center was established with support from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, and is currently conducting 14 joint industry-academia research projects in areas such as AI for marine, port, and logistics, AI manufacturing and robotics, and AI smart cities. Through the operation of its graduate school of artificial intelligence, it is also leading the cultivation of high-level talent in the southeast region.
