View original imageLee Soon-hee, the mayor of Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, announced on the 12th that she will transform Uicheon into a local landmark through the Uicheon Waterfront Vitalization Project.
The Uicheon Waterfront Vitalization Project is a large-scale initiative supported by 3.5 billion KRW in city funds. It involves completely replacing the landscaping stones along a 240-meter section from Suyu Bridge to Uigyo Bridge, and installing building-type terraces, waterfront stands, water screens, and tactile streams to revitalize the waterfront space.
The project began on the 9th and will continue until March next year. Mayor Lee said, "We will create various leisure spaces along Uicheon to further develop it into a popular destination for Seoul citizens," adding, "We expect it to also invigorate the local economy, including Baeknyeon Market and Suyuri Food Alley."
