Gwangjin-gu to Implement Comprehensive Chuseok Plan for 7 Days Starting the 13th to Ensure a Prosperous and Safe Holiday
Comprehensive Chuseok Measures in 8 Key Areas for 7 Days from September 13
24-Hour Situation Room and 5 Task Forces for Traffic, Wind and Flood Damage, Parks and Greenery, Cleaning, and Medical Services
Focusing on Residents' Safety and Convenience for a Comfortable and Warm Hangawi
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) will implement a comprehensive plan for Chuseok, the nation's biggest traditional holiday, for seven days starting from September 13.
The district plans to focus on eight key areas to ensure a safe and comfortable holiday: ▲Warm Chuseok celebrations ▲Price stabilization ▲Traffic measures ▲Flood and wind disaster response ▲Safety and fire prevention ▲Medical and health care ▲Cleaning ▲Establishment of public service discipline.
During the holiday period starting on the 13th, a total of 630 personnel will be deployed to maintain a 24-hour emergency response system. Five task forces will be organized, including the Disaster Safety Comprehensive Situation Room, Traffic Measures Team, Flood and Wind Disaster Response Team, Park Measures Team, Cleaning Measures Team, and Medical Measures Team, to minimize inconveniences.
First, to ensure a warm Chuseok without leaving any neighbors behind, warm support will be extended to low-income groups. Consolation money will be provided to basic livelihood security recipients and households in crisis, and an Emergency Life Stability Support Team will be formed to prepare for emergency situations. Vulnerable groups such as children at risk of food insecurity, single-parent families, and elderly living alone will be cared for, and consolation goods will be delivered to facilities for the disabled.
Price stabilization measures will be prepared. By conducting price surveys of essential goods, operating a comprehensive price stabilization situation room, running direct transaction markets for agricultural and marine specialties, and issuing Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates, the burden of holiday prices will be reduced.
Traffic measures for returning and departing travelers have also been prepared. The number of bus operations at Dong Seoul Terminal will be increased by 100 trips, and traffic facilities such as bus stops, traffic lights, and traffic signs will be inspected to ensure safety. An emergency contact network will be established and a traffic situation room will be operated. Around Dong Seoul Terminal, where traffic congestion is expected, about 20 personnel will be deployed daily to alleviate traffic jams.
Additionally, to prepare for sudden heavy rains during the holiday, a Flood and Wind Disaster Comprehensive Situation Room will be operated, and an on-site mobile team will be organized and operated. A 24-hour emergency contact system will be maintained with related organizations to ensure rapid situation dissemination and response in case of emergencies.
Efforts will be made to prevent safety accidents. Multi-use facilities such as movie theaters, performance halls, amusement facilities, tourist businesses, and sports facilities will be inspected to ensure safety. The Park Greenery Measures Team will monitor for forest fires, and safety inspections of construction sites, road facilities, and gas facilities will be conducted to prevent accidents in advance.
Customized cleaning measures will minimize daily inconveniences. Garbage collection will not take place from September 14 to 16, and normal collection will resume on Chuseok day, September 17. The cleaning situation room and mobile teams will be operated, and patrols will be strengthened to keep the streets clean during the holiday.
In addition, medical and health care measures will be implemented to ensure no medical gaps, including ▲Extended operation of open hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies ▲Operation of emergency medical situation rooms ▲Operation of health center emergency medical teams ▲Focused management of infection-vulnerable facilities for the health of residents.
Especially this year, the health center emergency medical teams will operate for three days on the 14th, 16th, and 17th, focusing on treating patients with chronic diseases.
