Handonghun: "The Ruling and Opposition Parliamentary Council Should Launch Quickly Without Preconditions"
"Medical School Expansion Adjustments and More: 'The Situation Is Not Easy'"
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the People Power Party, urged on the 10th that the ruling and opposition parliamentary consultative body for medical reform discussions should be launched swiftly without any preconditions.
After attending a media event held in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, Han said this when a reporter asked if the ruling and opposition parliamentary consultative body could be launched before Chuseok.
Han also emphasized, "The consultative body is a place where people gather with an earnest heart to solve problems. No preconditions should be set to block its launch itself."
Regarding the preconditions for participation demanded by the medical community, such as the readjustment of the 2025 academic year increase and the dismissal of Park Min-su, the 2nd Vice Minister of Health and Welfare, he said, "Some say as preconditions for negotiation that 'someone must be dismissed in advance' or 'certain topics should not be brought up,' but the situation is not so easy as to set such preconditions."

The agenda of the ruling and opposition parliamentary consultative body is just one thing: the health of the people."

When asked about plans to meet Park Dan, emergency committee chairman of the Korean Intern Resident Association, Han replied, "Giving a play-by-play like a live broadcast for each step might rather hinder the smooth launch of the consultative body," and added, "We sincerely want to start talks quickly."
