Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) received a plaque of appreciation from the Seoul Metropolitan City Hall Labor Union (Chairman Lee Dae-ok) in recognition of its efforts to improve the treatment of environmental public officials.
Gwangjin-gu is making various efforts to enhance the welfare of environmental public officials, who are essential workers. In particular, this year, it carried out renovation work on 12 dedicated rest areas to completely improve the working environment. Additionally, it expanded birthday encouragement gifts and support for domestic industrial inspections, and custom-made functional work uniforms to increase convenience.
Furthermore, it provides regular industrial safety and health education, customized welfare points, and health checkup expenses. Next year, it plans to support morale by renovating fitness rooms, installing massage chairs, and promoting communication workshops.
The plaque awarding ceremony took place on the 5th during the ‘One Mind Communication Day.’ Ninety-five environmental public officials active in the region attended, sharing a time of encouragement and harmony. Lee Dae-ok, chairman of the Seoul Metropolitan City Hall Labor Union, said, “We express our gratitude to Gwangjin-gu Office for their exceptional interest and consideration for the Gwangjin branch union members.”
Kim Kyung-ho, mayor of Gwangjin-gu, expressed his thoughts, saying, “I thank the environmental public officials and the Seoul Metropolitan City Hall Labor Union for joining this meaningful occasion. We will continue to strive to improve working conditions and do our best to create a safe and comfortable workplace.”

Founded in 1962, the Seoul Metropolitan City Hall Labor Union aims to improve workers’ labor conditions and social status. Approximately 2,300 union members affiliated with the 25 autonomous districts of Seoul are active, and the Gwangjin branch is also working hard to build a constructive labor-management relationship.
