Daegu Catholic University Holds Academic Forum to Mark 160th Anniversary of Goryeoin and Korean Migration
Domestic and International Experts Discuss 'Migration, Life, and Practice of Overseas Koreans'
The Daegu Catholic University Institute for Multicultural Studies and the Committee for the 160th Anniversary of Goryeoin and Korean Migration will jointly host the "160th Anniversary Academic Forum on Goryeoin and Korean Migration in the Gyeongsang Region" at 1:00 PM on the 12th in Room 208 of the university's Career and Startup Center.
This academic forum, under the theme "Migration, Life, and Practice of Overseas Koreans: Migration and Practice of Goryeoin in the Gyeongsang Region," will feature domestic and international experts engaging in various discussions.
The event is co-hosted and organized by numerous institutions, including the Kyungpook National University Institute of Social Sciences, Wolgok Goryeoin Cultural Center Gyeol, Korea University Asiatic Research Institute Asia Migration Research Center, and the Korean Goryeoin Association, with sponsorship from the Overseas Koreans Agency and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Kim Dongil, Director of the Daegu Catholic University Institute for Multicultural Studies, stated, "As this year marks the meaningful 160th anniversary of Goryeoin and Korean migration, we aim to seek harmony with Goryeoin compatriots in the Gyeongsang region through this academic forum."
The forum will also be held online to encourage broad participation from local residents.
