Gochang-gun, Jeollabuk-do announced on the 4th that it will carry out special monitoring and crackdown activities on key management sites, such as livestock farms and other businesses with frequent odor complaints, to ensure that residents and visitors can celebrate Chuseok in a pleasant environment.
According to the county, this inspection will be conducted until before the holiday to address livestock odor issues occurring during vulnerable times such as weekends and nighttime. On-site inspections and odor collection will be conducted together to encourage farm owners' efforts to reduce odors and raise awareness about odor emissions.
This year, the county collected 18 odor samples from businesses with frequent odor complaints and key livestock odor management sites. Among them, 11 cases exceeded the standard levels, resulting in strict guidance and enforcement measures such as fines and improvement orders.
