This program, which will continue until November, was prepared to actively utilize the Hwaseong Geopark as an educational resource after it was certified as a National Geopark by the Ministry of Environment in February.
The program is operated in three customized formats considering the characteristics and age levels of participants such as elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as family groups. It consists of storytelling-based explorations, mission activities, and game activities incorporating geological elements, conducted at major geological sites of Hwaseong National Geopark such as the Gojong-ri Dinosaur Egg Fossil Site and Ueumdo.
The 'Geo Cheerful Exploration Team Project' is a program for 5th and 6th-grade elementary school students and middle school class groups, designed so that students can learn about the geological characteristics of Hwaseong National Geopark by using geological site image cards obtained through missions performed at geological sites.
The program for middle and high school class groups and clubs, 'This is Hwaseong e-Geo!', consists of ▲ 'Exploration Geo Mission Activities' to explore the value and characteristics of the National Geopark ▲ 'Geo Marble Game' using eight major sites of Hwaseong National Geopark ▲ and the production of Hwaseong e-Geo short-form videos featuring the Gojong-ri Dinosaur Egg Fossil Site and Ueumdo.
The family program 'Let's Go Hwaseong Geo-ro(路) Go!' combines geological sites with nearby tourist attractions such as mudflat experiences.
The education will be conducted over a total of 14 sessions, with 30 participants per session, allowing about 420 people to participate in total. The city has already selected classes and clubs for the student programs through prior recruitment and plans to recruit family group participants for the exploration program within this month.
