Hyundai Rotem Unveils K-2 Tank at Polish Defense Exhibition
Hyundai Rotem will participate in the "32nd Poland International Defence Industry Exhibition" (MSPO) held from the 3rd to the 6th (local time) in Kielce, Poland.
According to Hyundai Rotem on the 4th, the company will exhibit various ground weapon systems, including an actual K-2 tank, at this exhibition. After signing a basic contract to supply 1,000 K-2 tanks to Poland in 2022, Hyundai Rotem completed the first contract for 180 units that same year. It delivered 46 units in the first half of this year and plans to deliver 38 units in the second half of this year and 96 units next year. The defense industry is paying close attention to whether the remaining contracts for some of the 820 units will be signed during the event.
Hyundai Rotem will also showcase a model of the 30-ton class wheeled armored vehicle (N-WAV) currently under development, as well as a recovery tank model from the K-2 tank series. A model of the 4th generation HR-Sherpa, a multipurpose unmanned vehicle, will also be displayed at the exhibition. This vehicle was developed through collaboration between Hyundai Rotem and Hyundai Motor Group in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving, unmanned systems, and electrification. Hyundai Rotem plans to use this exhibition as an opportunity to expand cooperation with Poland in various ways and contribute to the modernization of the local military.
