Main Concert 6 will feature a diverse program encompassing both traditional and contemporary Gugak. The detailed program includes: "Dancing Sea" (2017, Respect for Tradition 4), composed by Kim Seongguk and themed on the Ogu-gut ritual of Gijang, Busan; "Spring and Spring" (2024, Respect for Tradition 7), composed by Lee Yejin and based on the court music Nakyangchun; "The Village Where a Thousand Years Fall," composed by Cha Minyoung and based on the punggnyu music Cheonnyeonmanse; "Abureisuna," composed by Lee Jeongho and inspired by the rice planting songs of Yecheon, Gyeongbuk; and "Praying and Reporting," composed by Kim Changhwan and themed on the blessing ritual Donghaean Byeolsingut.
The National Gugak Center in Busan stated, "By presenting creative works based on traditional music in a contemporary orchestral Gugak format, we aim to seek the succession of tradition and the creative development of Gugak, and hope to deliver a moving experience to the audience."
The Busan Maru International Music Festival Organizing Committee commented, "We have prepared this festival in hopes that Busan will become an artistic platform connecting diverse cultures through music and that the lives of Busan citizens will be filled with hope and joy. We ask for your interest and participation so that the musical breeze can be felt throughout the city."
