Pyeongtaek City Increases Local Currency 'Pyeongtaek Sarang Card' Incentive from 7% to 10%
Until the End of This Month... Charging Limit Reduced from 600,000 to 450,000 Won
Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 3rd that it has temporarily increased the incentive for the card-type local currency 'Pyeongtaek Sarang Gift Certificate' from 7% to 10% throughout this month in celebration of Chuseok.
The city allocated a budget of 13.3 billion KRW for this event, which will end once the budget is exhausted. To allow more citizens to benefit, the city reduced the monthly recharge limit eligible for the incentive from 600,000 KRW to 450,000 KRW during the event period.
However, the paper-type Pyeongtaek Sarang Gift Certificate will maintain its discount rate and purchase limit at 7% and 20,000 KRW respectively. Accordingly, if both paper and card-type gift certificates are purchased up to their limits in September, buyers can receive a maximum discount benefit of 59,000 KRW.

A city official stated, "We plan to review the adjustment of the payment limits for the Pyeongtaek Sarang Gift Certificate in the second half of the year according to usage trends and financial conditions," adding, "We hope that the use of the gift certificates will lead to increased sales for local small businesses and contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
