Masan Fire Station: "We Will Ensure Citizens' Safety During Chuseok Holiday"
Masan Fire Station in Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam, is implementing a 'Fire Safety Plan' to strengthen fire prevention and safety in the region ahead of Chuseok, a traditional Korean holiday.
This plan focuses on preemptively blocking fire risk factors that may increase during the holiday period and promoting public awareness so that citizens can enjoy a safe and peaceful holiday.
According to fire incident statistics during the Chuseok holiday period in Masan City over the past three years (2021-2023), a total of 22 cases occurred, resulting in property damage of 300 million won. The main causes of fires were electrical factors and carelessness, in that order.
The main contents of the plan include: ▲ Fire safety inspections of multi-use facilities ▲ On-site administrative guidance for fire safety at vulnerable residential facilities ▲ Joint inspections of electric vehicle charging facilities and strengthening fire safety management in apartment complexes ▲ Fire prevention campaigns at traditional markets and fire prevention publicity using media outlets.
Chief Lee Gilha said, "Chuseok is a precious time when families gather together, so we will do our utmost to prevent fires so that citizens can spend the holiday with peace of mind."
