Songpa-gu Issues 24 Billion Won Worth of 'Songpa Love Gift Certificates' for Chuseok
Scheduled Issuance of 8 Billion KRW on September 4 at 3 PM and 16 Billion KRW on September 11 at 3 PM
5% Discount Issued to Boost Contracted Household Economy and Improve Small Business Management
Songpa-gu (Mayor Seo Gang-seok) announced that it will issue 'Songpa Love Gift Certificates' worth 24 billion KRW to revitalize the local economy, which has been sluggish due to the Chuseok holiday.
This amount is six times larger than this year's Lunar New Year and 5.5 billion KRW more than last year's Chuseok.
The 'Songpa Love Gift Certificates' are issued in the form of mobile gift certificates, with no payment fees for small business owners. Consumers can purchase them at a 5% discount and receive up to a 30% income deduction benefit, which has garnered strong support from residents.
The gift certificates will be issued twice, at 3 PM on the 4th and 11th of September. The sales times are divided to disperse the number of simultaneous app users as much as possible, allowing residents to purchase the certificates smoothly.
The first issuance will be on September 4th at 3 PM, with 8 billion KRW funded by city-district matching budgets, and the second issuance will be on September 11th at 3 PM, with 16 billion KRW fully funded by the district itself. The purchase limit is 500,000 KRW per person for both rounds combined, and the holding limit is 1.5 million KRW.
The district expects that issuing the certificates at a 5% discount for the Chuseok holiday will reduce residents' shopping burdens and help stabilize the management of small business owners.
To purchase and use the gift certificates, residents must download the 'Seoul Pay+' app in advance. Registering accounts or cards beforehand for bank transfers or card payments can shorten the purchase time.
The Songpa Love Gift Certificates can be used at approximately 15,000 affiliated stores within Songpa-gu, excluding large supermarkets, department stores, and other restricted merchants. Detailed usage locations can be checked in the Seoul Pay+ app.

We hope that the Songpa Love Gift Certificates will revive the sluggish consumer sentiment and lead to increased sales for small business owners, contributing to a virtuous economic cycle in the local community.”
