Patent for Effective Horseshoe-Shaped Protective Pads for Fall Prevention
The hip fracture treatment and prevention compression pant-type medical device 'UMEUS ACTIVE' from Danish company Taitex, which is exported to 40 countries worldwide, is being launched in the Korean market.

View original imageFinn Christian Andreasen, Chief Marketing Officer of Taitex, explained the product's excellence at a press conference held on the 30th of last month in Jung-gu, Seoul, saying, "The protective pads of UMEUS ACTIVE have a patented horseshoe shape that absorbs and disperses impact, making it highly effective in preventing injuries."
Taitex is a company with 52 years of history specializing in the research and development of medical apparel and materials. Its annual sales reach 38 million euros (approximately 561.8 billion KRW). Currently, it is establishing a global sales network across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
UMEUS ACTIVE is a non-reimbursable compression medical device designed to stabilize the hip fracture area to aid treatment and prevent fractures. It currently holds the number one market share in the global hip protector market. The patented horseshoe-shaped protective pads absorb and disperse shocks, making it effective for treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention.
Mr. Finn said, "We are pleased to introduce this product to Korea," adding, "To inform rehabilitation medicine doctors, we plan to attend the Korean Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine's Autumn Scientific Meeting on the 1st and visit rehabilitation departments at university hospitals."
He also emphasized, "Prescribing doctors and patients who have already used the product are satisfied, stating that it is an essential product for the treatment and prevention of hip fractures caused by falls," and highlighted, "Clinical results from numerous SCI-level papers show that patients wearing the hip protector had more than three times lower risk of hip fractures compared to those not wearing it."

He stressed its usefulness for patients exposed to fall risks due to mobility impairments. He said, "This product is essential for patients who have experienced hip fractures or have mobility impairments such as osteoporosis, dementia, Parkinson's disease, or stroke," adding, "It eliminates the fear of falling, increases activity levels, and greatly improves quality of life. It will also help reduce treatment costs."
