Idol-turned-rapper sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison for illegally filming his girlfriend
Choi, a 28-year-old rapper and former idol, who was prosecuted for illegally filming sexual intercourse scenes with his ex-girlfriend, was sentenced to prison in the first trial.
On the 30th, Judge Hong Da-seon of the Criminal Division 4 at the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Choi, a former idol group member, to 1 year and 6 months in prison and ordered his detention in court on charges of filming and distributing using a camera under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. Additionally, he was ordered to complete a 40-hour sexual violence treatment program and was banned from employment at child and youth-related institutions as well as disability-related institutions for 3 years each.
The court stated, "Illegally filming the victim’s nudity causes extreme sexual shame, and such illegal filming can cause irreversible damage if distributed. Considering these points, the infringement on the sexual self-determination rights of each victim is very serious."
