Professor Jung Yooji of Kyungnam College of Information Technology Wins the 1st Seonjeongju Sijo Literature Award
Ironing Featured in 'Gukje Market Tailor'
Kyungnam College of Information & Technology announced on the 27th that Professor Jung Yooji from the Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing has received the main prize at the 1st Seonjeongju Sijo Literary Award, hosted by the Chojung Memorial Association.
This award was established to honor the late poet Seonjeongju, a leading sijo poet of the 1970s. Seonjeongju is recognized for founding the quarterly "Hyundai Sijo" and serving as its editor, nurturing numerous sijo poets and greatly contributing to the popularization of modern Korean sijo poetry.
Notably, Professor Jung Yooji previously received the Newcomer Award at the 6th "Hyundai Sijo" in 1990, adding further significance to this recognition. The winning work by Professor Jung is "Ironing," included in the sijo collection "Gukje Market Tailor."

Professor Jung stated, "It is a great honor for me that my connection with poet Seonjeongju, who gave me the Newcomer Award 34 years ago, has led to receiving the 1st Seonjeongju Sijo Literary Award. As the head of the Department of Digital Literary Creative Writing at Kyungnam College of Information & Technology, I will do my best to expand the base and popularization of digital literature."
