The Small Enterprise and Market Service announced on the 26th that it held an opening ceremony for the Gangwon Regional Headquarters on the 23rd.

On the 23rd, the opening ceremony of the Gangwon Regional Headquarters of the Small Enterprise and Market Service was held in Chuncheon, Gangwon.

Last month, the Small Enterprise and Market Service separated the existing Seoul-Gangwon Regional Headquarters into Seoul and Gangwon, establishing a new Gangwon Regional Headquarters. This move was made in response to ongoing calls for regional headquarters operations that consider the regional characteristics and physical distance between Seoul and Gangwon. The Chuncheon Center in Gangwon will be promoted to the Gangwon Regional Headquarters and will perform the roles of both a regional headquarters and a center.
The opening ceremony was attended by about 50 people, including Kwon Dae-su, Vice President of the Small Enterprise and Market Service; Lee Wang-jae, Director of the Gangwon Regional Small and Medium Business Administration; Won Hong-sik, Director of the Economic Bureau of Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province; Hyun Jun-tae, Deputy Mayor of Chuncheon; Kim Jin-ho, Chairman of the Chuncheon City Council; and Han Du-sam, Chairman of the Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Merchants Association.

Park Seong-hyo, President of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, said, “With the establishment of the Gangwon Regional Headquarters, we expect on-site services reflecting regional characteristics to be strengthened,” adding, “Through the Gangwon Regional Headquarters, we will communicate with small business owners and traditional market merchants in the province and strive to establish policies with a strong sense of the field.”
