Fire at Gwangmyeong General Hospital... Over 50 Patients Evacuated
On the 25th, a fire broke out at a general hospital in Cheolsan-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do, causing about 50 patients to evacuate. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished by the fire authorities within 20 minutes, and no casualties have been reported.
According to the police and fire authorities, a report was received around 6:51 PM that day about a fire on the 2nd floor of the 9-story main building of Hospital A in Cheolsan-dong, Gwangmyeong-si, Gyeonggi-do.
The fire authorities issued a Level 1 proactive response alert (mobilizing equipment from 3 to 7 fire stations, with 31 to 50 units) and proceeded to extinguish the fire, which was completely put out by 7:09 PM, about 20 minutes after the report was received.
So far, no casualties have been confirmed, but about 50 patients who were in the inpatient rooms from the 5th to the 9th floors evacuated to the rooftop. The fire is reported to have started in the outpatient clinic on the 2nd floor.

A police official stated, "Fortunately, the fire was extinguished quickly, and so far, no casualties have been found during the search," adding, "We will conduct a final search for casualties together with the fire department and investigate the cause of the fire."
