The Korea Technology Finance Corporation announced on the 22nd that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for Promoting Technology Transfer, Commercialization, and Fostering Startups and Venture Companies' with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Hankyong National University. This agreement was established to build an organic cooperation system between the two institutions to promote the commercialization of technologies owned by Hankyong National University and to carry out effective technology brokerage services targeting excellent local technology companies.
According to the agreement, Hankyong National University will provide related information to Kibo to ensure efficient technology transfer of its owned technologies, and Kibo will cooperate to enable successful technology transfer and commercialization by ▲discovering and recommending companies with excellent technological capabilities ▲providing information necessary for technology transfer and brokerage services ▲supporting commercialization promotion through excellent technology transfer ▲providing technology finance support to technology transfer companies.
Since establishing a dedicated technology transaction organization in 2014 and starting technology transaction projects, Kibo has supported about 8,600 technology transfers to approximately 5,000 small and venture companies until last year. Additionally, to transfer excellent technologies owned by universities and research institutes to small businesses and promote the commercialization of transferred technologies, Kibo operates the open technology transaction platform for small businesses called ‘Smart Techbridge’ and provides technology finance support.

Jo Young-gil, head of Kibo’s Gyeonggi Regional Headquarters, said, “This agreement is significant in that it establishes a cooperation plan for open technological innovation among excellent technology companies in the Gyeonggi-do region,” adding, “Kibo operates various systems related to technology transfer and commercialization support and will contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of small and venture companies and revitalizing the economy by expanding cooperation with local universities.”
