Koramco Refines Investment Strategy... Strengthening Research and Strategy Teams
Coramco Asset Trust and Coramco Asset Management announced on the 21st that they have completed the organizational structure to strengthen their Research & Strategy functions.
Following the recruitment of Director Kim Yeolmae, formerly an analyst at NH Investment & Securities earlier this year, they additionally hired Team Leader Jeong Jinwoo, who previously led the research team at the global commercial real estate services firm Cushman & Wakefield.
Coramco was the first in the real estate industry to organize an analysis team in 2007, providing investors with forecasts and analyses on real estate and the financial industry for over a decade. The strategy functions, which had recently been divided into various operational departments to support practical marketing, were reintegrated into the ‘Research & Strategy Office (R&S Office)’ to establish company-wide investment strategies. This was done to provide clear analyses of macroeconomic environmental changes and divergent market forecasts by sector.
Since the expansion and reorganization of the R&S Office, there have been many changes in communication with investors. Market Outlook materials, which provide market and sector-specific forecasts, have already begun to be distributed to investors and potential clients. Market predictions and house views are now included in investment proposals (IM) from sales departments, making the materials more refined.
Above all, communication with overseas investors considering domestic investments is being strengthened. Coramco’s Capital Markets Office is the organization that offers domestic investment opportunities to foreign investors. Due to crises in the commercial real estate markets in the US and Europe, overseas institutional investors who have been unable to find investment destinations are receiving expertise to build relatively stable Asia-Pacific region portfolios.
The R&S Office participates alongside the Capital Markets Office in domestic and international roadshows (investor presentations) to enhance overseas investors’ understanding of the domestic real estate market. Furthermore, by adding Team Leader Jeong, who comes from a global real estate services firm, they plan to further strengthen IR (Investor Relations) and marketing targeting overseas investors.
Recently, the R&S Office has been focusing on eliminating uncertainties in real asset investments due to crises in the commercial real estate markets of major countries in the US and Europe and the domestic project financing (PF) situation. To this end, they regularly provide verification of investment sectors and macro-level industrial structural change data to internal and external stakeholders. They also plan to regularly provide an English version of the Market Outlook for overseas investors.
