Party Chiefs' Secretaries to Meet on the 21st
The People Power Party plans to live broadcast the ruling and opposition party leaders' meeting between Representative Han Dong-hoon and Representative Lee Jae-myung of the Democratic Party scheduled for the 25th, and propose discussing three main agendas: a declaration to stop political strife, recovery of people’s livelihood, and political reform. On the other hand, the Democratic Party expressed displeasure over the People Power Party’s preemptive disclosure of these details to the media without practical consultation, saying, "Don’t they think of this as just a political event?"
On the 20th, Park Jeong-ha, Secretary to the Party Leader of the People Power Party, told reporters at the central party office in Yeouido, Seoul, "If the Democratic Party agrees, I plan to propose that the entire leaders’ meeting be open from start to finish."
Regarding the agenda the People Power Party will propose to the Democratic Party, he said, "Currently, there are many relay impeachments and many meaningless hearings, so we are thinking of proposing a declaration to stop political strife as an agenda item." He also mentioned plans to propose issues such as financial investment income tax, interest relief measures, support plans for low-income groups and small business owners, and the institutionalization of a consultative body for political reform to relinquish parliamentary privileges.

He said, "That way, Representative Han Dong-hoon will agree, and Representative Lee Jae-myung’s original proposal and intent will be respected, so we want to have an open meeting as much as possible," adding, "If we reach an agreement with the Democratic Party, I hope it will be a meeting where the two leaders can fully discuss five to six agenda items."
In response, Lee Hae-sik, Secretary to the Party Leader of the Democratic Party, immediately expressed discomfort. Lee said to reporters in front of the Administrative and Security Committee hearing room that day, "During practical meetings, we should sufficiently consult on the format, content, and topics of the meeting, announce what should be announced, and not announce what should not be announced. But to suddenly throw out the entire meeting content to the media for live broadcast is disrespectful."
He added, "This makes me unpleasantly think that Representative Han Dong-hoon of the People Power Party considers the ruling-opposition meeting as just a political event," and explained, "I immediately called (Secretary Park) to appeal that this should be discussed through practical meetings, and Secretary Park himself acknowledged this by saying 'please understand.' We agreed to meet again after resolving the current situation." It is known that they plan to meet as early as the morning of the 21st.
