Guro Mirae Library Opens on the 23rd...Festive Opening Ceremony
Library Stamp Tour, Opening Celebration Photo Zone, Hands-on Activities, Author Lectures Scheduled... Opening Ceremony on the 23rd at 3 PM
Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) announced on the 19th that a variety of lectures and experiential events that families and friends can enjoy together will be available at the Guro Mirae Library, which officially opens at 9 a.m. on the 23rd.
On the opening day, the 23rd, in the first-floor lobby, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a ‘Library Stamp Tour’ will be held where participants complete missions and receive stamps to get an eco bag as a gift. In the first-floor open materials room, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a ‘Grand Opening Photo Zone’ will be operated where visitors can take and print commemorative photos.
On the second-floor Book Sa-it-gil, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be an experiential activity where participants express their summer through writing and drawing and make pin buttons.
On the same day at 2 p.m., in the third-floor program room, a one-person play and experiential activity titled ‘Secrets of Animals in Stories’ by author Nanju (Nyang-i’s Strange Day) will be held for children aged 5 to 7.
Following that, on the 24th at 2 p.m. in the third-floor program room, two lectures will be held: ▲ ‘It Is Impossible to Be a Good Person to Everyone’ by author Eom Ji-hye (Picky Good Person) and ▲ ‘My Mood Today’ by author Jeong Dai (I Cry Too, Like You).
From 10 a.m. on the 25th, 10 families consisting of elementary school students and their caregivers will participate in a two-hour ‘Family Yoga to Start the Weekend Morning’ session to find balance in body and mind.
On the 24th and 25th, on the second-floor Book Sa-it-gil, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., a ‘Decorate Your Own Tumbler’ experiential event will continue, where participants use various tools to decorate their own tumblers for use in the library.
Since participation is on a first-come, first-served basis or requires prior registration depending on the time slot, it is recommended to check the detailed information in advance on the Guro-gu Lighthouse of Wisdom website before visiting.
A Guro-gu official said, “The Guro Mirae Library is ready to welcome residents with about 20,000 volumes of books and various programs,” and added, “We hope for much interest and participation in the beginning of the Guro Mirae Library.”
The Guro Mirae Library is located in front of Exit 3 of Sindorim Station and consists of a total floor area of 1,444㎡ across three floors above ground, including reading rooms, a book caf?, a digital materials room, stepped bookshelves, an auditorium, and offices.
Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The library is closed every Tuesday and on legal holidays.
