At least nine people were killed and five injured in an Israeli airstrike on a residential building in Nabatiyeh, southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese state news agency NNA, as reported by foreign media on the 17th (local time).
According to major foreign media, the Israeli military stated that the airstrike targeted a weapons depot used by the Lebanese militant group Hezbollah. The airstrike occurred amid rising tensions in the Middle East.
On the 31st of last month, Ismail Haniyeh, the top political leader of the Palestinian militant group Hamas, was assassinated in Tehran, the capital of Iran.
