The Sacheon Coast Guard in South Gyeongsang Province announced that on the morning of the 12th at 6:33 a.m., they recovered the body of Ms. A, a woman in her 40s who had gone missing near Yeondeung Island off Dumido, Yongji-myeon, Tongyeong City, on the 11th.
Ms. A was found dead about 60 meters east of Yeondeung Island.
It was reported that she was wearing snorkeling equipment but was not wearing a life jacket.

View original imageThe Sacheon Coast Guard received a report at 7:49 p.m. the previous day that Ms. A had gone missing in the sea near Yeondeung Island. They mobilized patrol boats, the Namhae police substation, the Sacheon rescue team, the fire department rescue team, and private rescue vessels to conduct a search operation.
Ms. A entered Dumido on the 9th and, on the day she went missing, moved to Yeondeung Island with her companions on a 1.13-ton coastal composite vessel around 4 p.m. to enjoy water activities, during which she went missing.
The Coast Guard is investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
