Gokseong-gun Provides Up to 2.4 Million KRW Monthly Rent Support for Local Small Business Workers

Efforts to ensure worker housing stability and develop various policies
Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will support workers employed at small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region with up to 2.4 million KRW for monthly rent expenses.
To improve the residential environment for workers who have moved to SMEs, the county is launching the "2024 Gokseong-gun SME Relocated Worker Monthly Rent Support Project" for the first time this year, providing 200,000 KRW per month for up to 12 months, totaling 2.4 million KRW in rent support.

Workers without housing who are employed at SMEs registered as factories within Gokseong-gun, who have relocated to Gokseong-gun after January 1, 2024, and live in rented housing within the region, who have been registered residents of another local government for more than one year as of the relocation date, and whose income is at or below 180% of the median income (based on health insurance premium payments) can receive rent support if all these conditions are met.
Applications can be submitted in person at the local town or township office with the required documents from August 14 to 30.
A county official said, "We hope this project will help relocated workers settle down and live stably in our region, even if just a little," and added, "We plan to continue discovering and implementing various policies that provide practical support to workers in the region."
Meanwhile, Gokseong-gun has been holding meetings with industrial complexes to gather diverse opinions for coexistence between companies and the region, prioritizing housing stability for workers, and is promoting policies that satisfy both companies and the community by supporting monthly rent for relocated workers.
