Kyung-Hoon Lee and Sung-Hyun Kim Fail to Advance to PO Round 1
Lee Kyung-hoon finishes 41st, FedEx Cup ranking 99th
Kim Sung-hyun 66th, FedEx Cup ranking drops to 111th
Failed to enter top 70 in FedEx Cup rankings
Lee Kyung-hoon and Kim Sung-hyun failed to advance to this year's PGA Tour Playoffs (PO).
On the 11th (local time), Lee Kyung-hoon finished tied for 41st place (6-under 274) after losing one stroke in the final round of the regular season's last tournament, the Wyndham Championship (total prize money $7.9 million), held at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70) in Greensboro, North Carolina. He remained at 99th in the FedEx Cup rankings, failing to move up even one spot, and thus could not participate in the PO, which is limited to the top 70 players.
Kim Sung-hyun struggled with an 8-over 78 on the day, dropping to 66th place (6-over 286). His FedEx Cup ranking fell to 111th. Im Sung-jae finished tied for 41st place in the tournament, with no change from 9th in the FedEx Cup rankings. Kim Si-woo, who was cut off, dropped two spots from 36th to 38th in the FedEx Cup rankings.
Aaron Rai (England) celebrated his first PGA Tour victory. He shot 6-under on the final day to claim the top spot by two strokes (18-under 262). Rai also improved his FedEx Cup ranking from 53rd to 25th. Max Homa finished second (16-under 264), and J.J. Spaun (both from the United States) tied for third (15-under 265) to close out the tournament.
