Busan Urban Corporation Conducts Emergency Site Inspections for Heat Wave and Heat Illness Prevention
Comprehensive Heatwave Safety Prevention at 9 Construction Sites
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) recently conducted an emergency safety inspection at the Busan Concert Hall construction site on the 6th, as record-breaking heatwaves continue, to prevent industrial accidents such as heat-related illnesses among construction workers.
On this day, President Kim Yonghak received a report on the implementation of measures according to the 'Ministry of Employment and Labor's Heat Illness Prevention Guide for Hot Seasons' and the current status of safety management, toured the workers' rest facilities, and encouraged the efforts of those involved.
The inspection team also focused on checking compliance with the three basic rules for preventing heat-related illnesses: ▲ ensuring water, shade, and rest ▲ installation of rest facilities ▲ monitoring of high-risk groups for heat illness.
During the inspection, BMC took measures to effectively prevent the occurrence of heat-related illnesses by minimizing outdoor work during peak heat hours or by making work hours more flexible.
Kim Yonghak, President of Busan Metropolitan Corporation, said, "We will further strengthen our safety inspection activities to prevent heat-related illnesses during the heatwave, focus BMC's administrative efforts on preventing accidents, and protect our workers."
