Gyeonggi-do to Install 'Canopies' at Three Pedestrian Overpasses
Gyeonggi Province will install 'canopies' at three pedestrian overpasses.
On the 7th, Gyeonggi Province announced that it will promote the installation of canopies at three local pedestrian overpasses managed by the Provincial Construction Headquarters.
The pedestrian overpasses selected for canopy installation are ▲Bukyang-ri pedestrian overpass in Hwaseong ▲pedestrian overpass in front of Eoyeon Elementary School in Pyeongtaek ▲Yangbyeon pedestrian overpass in Anseong, chosen considering public transportation connections and elementary school student walkways.
Canopies help prevent accidents by addressing the problem of slippery overpass floors caused by rain or snow, which threaten user safety and cause inconvenience.
Gyeonggi Province plans to invest 246 million KRW from the disaster management fund to promptly conduct structural reviews and detailed design services for the targeted pedestrian overpasses, aiming to complete the canopy installation within this year.
