The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency is recruiting 40 residents for the AI Experience Group until the 15th of this month.

The residents' AI Experience Group was introduced for the first time this year to activate the AI industry in public sectors such as healthcare and welfare through AI technology demonstrations that residents can directly experience, and to increase residents' awareness and familiarity with AI technology.

In April, the agency selected 140 ideas through a demand survey for 'AI Demonstration Idea Discovery' in the public sector involving resident participation. Subsequently, through a public announcement for AI demonstration support projects in both public and private sectors, one public sector project and four private sector projects were finalized.

The one public sector project that the Experience Group will directly try and evaluate is the "AI-based Customized Welfare Information Service" proposed by Siheung City, based on a small large language model (sLLM). The small large language model is a generative information provision engine based on specialized language trained on data.

The Experience Group will search for personalized welfare information, compare it with existing methods, and evaluate usability and accuracy. They will also provide feedback for service improvement, gaining an opportunity to directly participate in the development of AI public services.

The Experience Group selected through document screening will carry out AI demonstration experiences and evaluations for four months.

Kang Seong-cheon, director of the agency, stated, "This project is an innovative model where residents participate in the entire process from idea proposal to service experience and evaluation," adding, "Through this, we expect to increase residents' awareness of AI technology and develop practical and high-quality AI services."
