Busan Film Festival Introduces New 'Documentary Audience Award' This Year

The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) announced on the 5th that it will establish a new 'Documentary Audience Award' category starting this year.
This category targets selected works from the competitive section 'Wide Angle - Documentary,' a flagship program showcasing documentaries with distinctive vision and original perspectives. Through audience voting, one work that combines artistic merit and popular appeal will receive a prize of 10 million KRW.
The festival organizers stated, "As the first audience award dedicated to documentary films, we expect it to significantly contribute to increasing the popularity of the documentary genre."
