View original imageThe Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters ranked first nationwide in the evaluation of winter fire safety measures last year.
The Fire and Disaster Headquarters announced on the 4th that it achieved first place among 19 fire headquarters nationwide in the performance evaluation of fire safety measures conducted by the National Fire Agency. The evaluation covered a four-month period from November last year to the end of February this year.
The headquarters achieved advanced-level fire safety through the 100-day total response project to reduce fire damage. Additionally, it strengthened fire safety for foreign residents through the Foreigners' Fire Safety Innovation Master Plan and implemented a focused management plan to prevent fires and reduce damage in areas densely populated with small factories.
Furthermore, to prevent fires caused by discarded combustible materials on the floors of places vulnerable to fire damage such as residential and commercial areas, various policies were implemented, including the 'Safety Environment Day' campaign and the introduction of 'Cultural Heritage Fire Safety Week.'
The Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters was recognized for these efforts and achieved a first-grade fire safety index for six consecutive years.

Jo Seon-ho, head of the Gyeonggi-do Fire and Disaster Headquarters, stated, "Due to the implementation of various fire safety measures last winter, fire-related casualties decreased by 49% compared to the previous year, and the fire occurrence index dropped by 14%. We will continue to prioritize the safety of residents and develop more effective fire prevention and response measures."
